Trees
Just recently, it has come to my attention that you folks are just putting in trees 'willy nilly' (at random without understanding) in your work without taking any care with your research. At the latest round of presentations I saw scenes with trees that were totally out of place. I also saw 'made up' trees. There's nothing wrong with designing your own trees but if you do not understand how they grow between species then they will NEVER look real !
Therefore find below a series of infographics designed to show you the different types of tree genus and their growth patterns. There is also tree identification through leaves.
Above: Just some common tree shapes
Even HOW you build the branch style makes a big difference. Leaves do not overshadow each other in order to capture as much light as possible.
Try this app from the Woodland Trust that will identify trees on your smartphone.

Leaf colour? Do you ever consider the time of year? No. I didn't think so... read on.
So you thought you could make any old leaf? Hahahahaha ! See table below...
So you just want to use ready made trees, eh? Well I hate to say but they also come in a variety of shapes, sizes and colours. Below is a sample from Revit by Autodesk.
